Vulkan, ehemige Lampenfabrik

The major working place for the "Actien-Gesellschaft für Gas und Elektricität" at the Gasstraße (nowadays Lichtstrasse) was erected in 1898. In 1909 the new Vulcan AG emerged as a fabric for machines and apparats with an iron foundry from the "Actien-Gesellschaft für Gas und Elektricität" and the "Rheinische Vulkan Chamotte- und Dinaswerke. The production later focussed on lights.
After the industrial phase the factory site was given in 2002 to the Vulkan Grundstücksgesellschaft, which till 2005 formed an interesting revitalization of the old buildings, enriched with modern structures.
